Edward Birks, Carpenter, Joiner & Cabinet maker. Director.
When I first started working with Alex it soon became clear we work really well together. We both share the same passion and enjoyment for our work. I like the creative aspect of our work and enjoy using my skills to turn a drawing on paper into a finished product. I also feel we are lucky to work from Hambleden and it’s beautiful surroundings.’
Aside from the daily running of the business, much of my time is spent installing our projects in people’s homes and on-site. Working from our equipped vehicles, I tailor our products to fit beautifully within their surroundings. You may also meet me during the initial enquiry visit when you talk to me about your project, it’s at this point where I will take the first measurements. When I’m not out and about, you will find me in our workshop making your next piece of furniture.
Alex Langstaff-Ellis, Carpenter, Cabinet maker & Furniture Designer Director.
I feel privileged to get so much out of my chosen career. I love the variety
of the work we are offered and not knowing what we might be asked to make tomorrow is great. I enjoy working with our clients and gain satisfaction from seeing their appreciation when we have completed the project.
My day is spent in a number of ways including designing and managing our projects and quotes, to visiting clients to discuss their project in detail. You may also find me in our workshop getting dusty!
Sam Chennell BA (hons), Joiner, Furniture & Cabinet maker and Designer. Workshop Manager.
I joined Langstaff-Ellis in Spring 2010 and have
settled into my new role instantly. The whole team really work well together and I feel this reflects in our work. We all have slightly different skills within woodwork, we use this pool of skills to offer a large range of wooden products and services. I really enjoy the creative nature of our work.
As my job title suggests, I spend most of my time running our workshop. My job mainly consists of designing and making your furniture and joinery. From time to time I will visit the client to aid our team with the installation of a project but looking after the workshop and it’s team certainly fills my day.
